Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR to declare open the 2024 Law Week of the Nigerian Bar Association, Yenagoa Branch
Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR is billed to declare the 2024 Law Week of the Nigerian Bar Association, Yenagoa Branch scheduled to hold from the 22nd to the 30th of June, 2024 open.
The year’s Law Week which has Hon. Justice Obande Festus Ogbuinya, JSC, CON as its keynote speaker is themed: ”The Legal Profession in a time of Socio-Economic Uncertainty ”.
This Plenary Session for the Law Week is scheduled to hold on Friday, 28th of June, 2024 at the DSP Alamieyeseigha Memorial Banquet Hall, and is expected to have in attendance, members of the legal community and other eminent personalities such as the Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, Ph.D, HRM Amalate J. Turner, the Paramount Ruler of Oloibiri Kingdom, Justices of the Court of Appeal, Judges of the Bayelsa State Judiciary and other Courts.
As part of the Law Week Programme, the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Center, Yenagoa, Dr. James E. Omietimi would deliver a paper on “Health and Wellness of the Nigerian Lawyer”.
His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is highly regarded for his contributions in building an egalitarian society and reforming the electoral process in Nigeria. In his famous words “My ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian”, former President Jonathan is a fervent believer in democracy and has led various delegations to monitor elections within and outside the African continent.
As former Governor of Bayelsa State, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan developed a deliberate policy for the growth of legal profession in Bayelsa State.
